How we started

Founder Bae Hyejin spent eleven years in P&C claims operations before opening Hazelhub in 2018. The studio began when a former colleague asked for help turning a quarterly reserve report into something the regional director could read without a spreadsheet open. That first briefing pack—twelve charts mounted on brass corners—became the template for every engagement we take on today.

We remain a small studio: four full-time visualization analysts, one actuarial liaison on retainer, and a print specialist who handles mounting and board-book binding. We do not resell software licenses or host dashboards. Our work ends on paper, in PDF, or on your wall.

Working approach

Every project starts with your claim extract, not a blank template. Analysts validate field completeness before choosing chart types. We annotate every panel with the claim numbers and date ranges behind the visual, so when a director asks "which files?" the answer is on the same page.

Revision rounds are limited by design. We prefer one focused correction pass over endless pixel tweaks. If your internal standards require multiple committee approvals, we build that into the timeline upfront.

Values we hold in client work

We cite source claim numbers on every chart we deliver. We refuse to smooth data without documenting the rule. We treat your extract as confidential from receipt through destruction of working files thirty days after delivery unless you request earlier deletion.

Relationship to the Gyeonggi claims community

Most of our clients sit within an hour of our Ilsan-ro studio—carriers in Goyang, Seoul, and Incheon. We also serve national carriers who courier extracts or use secure file transfer. Quarterly portfolio reviews occasionally require on-site presentation; we travel within Korea when scheduled in advance.
